Golds in another draw, Clarets lose again

2 - 2 and 1 - 2

Golds got off to a great start playing the same four man midfield and no recognised striker as they did against the Clarets last time out. We went 1- 0 up when a great through ball found Bill Aplleby in acres of space and he cooly lifted his shot over the keeper in to the net. Golds continued to frustrate Coleshill and went in at the break leading their opponents. Shortly after half time Alan Hewitt picked the ball up in midfield rounded two Coleshill players and fired in to the bottom corner for 2-0. We continued to look comfortable until injuries to Tony Buckley and Rob Ratcliffe disrupted our shape and Coleshill managed to pull two goals back in the last 10 minutes.

A game of two halves we started slowly and allowed Hartshill to control the game which meant we lost our shape and structure, this was compounded by some loose passing which meant we gave the ball away too easily. We were perhaps a bit fortunate to go in at half time only 1-0 down.

All aspect of our play were better in the second half however Hartshill scored a second goal but after that the lads had the better of the game. Tim Reynolds hitting the post from 15 yards and then Andy Baily reacting quickly to a defensive mistake to score . Clarets pushed forward looking for an equaliser but Hartshill defended well and saw it out to win 2-1. If only we'd started the game better.
