Golds fight back for a draw
1 - 1

The Golds with key players still missing from their squad earned a good draw against Coventry & District following last months disappointing losses. Coventry dominated the possession but were kept at arms length by a resolute Golds defence. The same scenario continued in to the second half with rare threats on the Coventry goal. Coventry scored from a set piece when a long range effort evaded Paul Matthews in goal, the Golds were soon reduced to 5 men when two players were blue carded. Playing for several minutes with only 5 players our defence stood strong to be rewarded when a late incursion in to Coventry territory saw their defender step in to the area and giveaway a penalty. Upstepped captain Rob Ratcliffe to despatch the penalty with applomb to bring us level with virtually the last kick of the game.
