Clarets win the derby game

A very close encounter was settled by a second half goal from Mike Stevenson for the Clarets. After the first half ended 0 - 0 Clarets started to take control and dominate posession. Golds gave the ball away needlessly in the midfield area and a through ball put the Clarets forward away who finished smartly past the Golds keeper. Despite pushing hard for an equaliser the Clarets did not relinquish their control of the game to avenge dropping four points to the Golds last season.
