Clarets win, Golds lose again
2-1 & 2-3

OCs Clarets 2 Coleshill 1
The lads were keen to end the season on a high note and to reverse the defeat to Coleshill in the Cup last month. And it showed from the off, in possession the movement and passing was great and for the majority of the game they were in complete control. Out of possession the boys more than matched Coleshill's work rate and physicality, leading to growing frustration from the opposition. Mid-way through the half Mike Stevenson had to go off injured but Andy Bailey came on and the continued dominance was rewarded shortly before half-time when Dave Cox brilliantly finished a flowing move to give us the lead. Then in the second half Tony Wall finished more great play to make it 2-0. Late in the game we gave Coleshill a goal and the focus shifted to hanging on for the win - it was good to see us do that and btw it would have been a real injustice if we hadn't.
I think this was probably the best performance of the season and everyone played really well. Special mention though to Chris Burton who had an excellent game and nullified Tim Bull - Coleshill's leading scorer. And also to Dave Cox who moved into midfield and was also outstanding.
Golds 2 - 3 Coventry and District
A game that epitomised our season, played well in parts but every mistake got punished and an uncharacteristic goalkeeping error led to our downfall. Having palyed some very good football Coventry took the lead through a well taken goal, and went in 1-0 down at half time. We started the second half well and were awarded a penalty when one of their defenders encroached on the area. Alan Hewitt slotted home for his 7th goal of the campaign. We then took the lead when some good football released Rob Ratcliffe to score from distance for his 6th goal of the season. The referee seemed to play a very long second half which saw w Coventry equalise then win with the last kick of the game. One of our better performances considering we had two players blue carded.
